Flowers, flowers, flowers … But we are in the winter, how do you do?
Easy enough to find plants that bloom in winter, just as the Forsythia, this plant is a shrub, and produces small flowers the color of sulfur.
This plant belongs to the Oleaceae family (the one to which they belong olive trees), there are different types of this species, most native to Asia except for a native species of South Eastern Europe.
This tree usually grows between one and three meters in height, has gray-brown branches, and one of its most interesting peculiarity is the flowering period: usually when spring comes, the other plants bud new leaves, and then they begin to bloom; in our case is the opposite at the end of the winter Forsythia is covered with flowers and just after the new leaves begin to sprout.
Having a rather early flowering, this plant is used for louis public (such as parks, flower beds, balconies and for the edges of the roads), as the old solar color of its flowers gives the cheerful surroundings.
In the East, this plant has not only a decorative use, in fact in Korea its branches are used to create bows for playing the Ajaeng, China has instead entered the Forsythia, one of the 50 fundamental essences of Chinese Herbology.
Fiori, fiori, fiori… Ma siamo in inverno, come si fa?
Semplice basta trovare delle piante che fioriscano d’inverno, come appunto la Forsizia (Forsythia), questa pianta è un arbusto, e produce dei piccoli fiori color zolfo.
Questa pianta fa parte della famiglia delle Oleaceae (quella alla quale appartengono gli ulivi), esistono diverse tipologie di questa specie, la maggior parte originarie dell’Asia ad eccezione per una specie natia dell’Europa sud-orientale.
Quest’arbusto in genere cresce tra uno ed i tre metri di altezza, ha dei rami grigio marrone, ed una delle sue peculiarità più interessanti è il periodo di fioritura: in genere quando arriva la primavera, le altre piante, gemmano le nuove foglie e poi iniziano a fiorire, nel nostro caso invece è il contrario a fine inverno la Forsizia si ricopre di fiori e solo dopo inizia a gemmare le nuove foglie.
Avendo una fioritura piuttosto precoce, questa pianta è utilizzata per luighi pubblici ( come parchi, aiuole, balconi e per le bordature delle strade) , inquanto il solare colore dei suoi i fiori regala allegra al paesaggio circostante.
In oriente questa pianta non ha solamente un uso decorativo, infatti in Corea i suoi rami sono utilizzati per creare gli archetti per suonare l’Ajaeng; la Cina ha inserito invece la Forsizia, tra le 50 essenze fondamentali dell’Erbologia Cinese.
